Information
Processing of
visas may take up to sixty days in your home country! Therefore,
the visa application deadline is
April 1, 2008...extended
to April 30.
International
students accepted for full-time study (three courses) in the
Hopkins Summer Intensive English Language Program may be issued
the F-1 Visa. Visas are not granted for part-time study.
To be eligible for the F-1, you must pay for the full program by
credit card and complete and return the following items to the
Hopkins ESL Program office:
1.
Visa Application Checklist.
Please fill out and attach with application packet.
2.
International Student Notification Form FS-1SP
and $50 visa postage fee.
3.
Photocopy of passport biographical page.
4. Statement
of Financial Capability - a bank statement or letter in
English from a bank showing that you can cover all your expenses
in U.S. dollars during your stay in the U.S.
5. Proof of
health insurance. If you have no health insurance that can
be used in the U.S., you must purchase short term insurance
through the ESL office at a cost of approximately $100.

Note:
we must have the original bank statement or letter.
If you are
under the age 18, you must obtain the following documents:
1.
Pre-College Summer Program
Application Form and payment of $2,350 for housing and
meals ($2,300), plus a nonrefundable application fee ($50).
Please note: This cost is in addition to the ESL tuition
of $2,300.
2.
Letter of certification from a teacher that student has
completed 2 years of English learning experience
